Abstract
The nineteenth century is largely recognized for the
controversial disagreements between the newly scientific
discoveries and religious theories. Thus, this paper presents
data on the Victorian period and more specifically the poem
Dover Beach by Matthew Arnold. Meantime, it highlights the
loss of faith in the Victorian society of England through the
lens of New Criticism and New Historicism theories. The
research aimed at illustrating the loss of religion and the
melancholic tone evoked by Matthew Arnold in his Well–
known poem Dover Beach. At the beginning, it provides a
critical insight on the principles and the histories of these two
theories. Additionally, in the introduction, the paper contains
significant information on the message of Dover Beach and its
linkage to the theories. Equally important, follows it the
discussion and analysis section, which is probably the
fundamental part of the research. Finally, a brief conclusion
is provided at the end.

Abstract
The total phenolic compound and fatty acid profiles of lipids from microalgae are unique. The present study was
designed to investigate aqueous, ethanolic and acetone extracts of several algae (Spirogyra sp., Spirulina sp.,Chlorella
sp and Chara sp.) for their antioxidant capacities of the crude extracts and fractions by radical scavenging activity
against the stable radical 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl DPPH as well; total phenolic content. The results showed
that Spirulina sp. indicated significantly higher total phenolic compound and antioxidant activities compared to the
other species (P < 0.05) and acetone extracts showed higher quantity among three extracts. The fatty acids analysis
using High performance liquid chromatography –HPLC showed the presence of palmitic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid,
and linoleic acid, palmitic acid showed high quantity than other fatty acid classes in all studied algae. This study
concluded that high antioxidant capacity of microalgae could be inspected for different industrial applications.

Abstract
By the beginning of March 2020, the wave of the Covid–19 pandemic had reached the borders of the
Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The earliest cases were recorded in the cities. The Sulaymaniah governorate took preliminary action. Later, the Council of Ministers led by the office of the Prime Minister formed a higher
committee for counteracting the Coronavirus in order to instruct and update the public on the situation.
This paper closely examines the policies responding to the pandemic followed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) in Iraq. For this purpose, considerations to the different mandates and decisions regarding the opinions of the universities and their level of compliance to the decisions of the ministry, as well as taking a different example from the
state universities in order to clearly investigate the current educational policy of the ministry will be analyzed. Also, a survey is carried out and this is fragmented into three sections: the anxiety concerning the study, the method of online–teaching and final evaluations.

Abstract
In the field of second language acquisition, the issue of code• switching or L 1 use in relation to second language teaching and learning has been regarded as a hot debate for several decades. As a result, several studies have been conducted so as to support the idea that L 1 should be implemented for L2 teaching and learning, while another studies provided evidence to the disadvantages caused by such implementing of L 1. Since, it is widely acknowledged that the notion of ‘belief’ is one of the most significant factors that influence L2 teaching and learning, the current study aims at comparing teachers’ beliefs towards using L 1 in language classrooms in two different Arab countries Libya and Iraqi Kurdistan. The current study tries to shed light on whether Libyan EFL teachers and Kurdish EFL teachers have similar or different beliefs towards the use of L 1 in their language classrooms and to find out what beliefs these groups have. Teachers’ beliefs questionnaire has been used for data collection.

Abstract
The present study seeks in to draw a framework to share the most organized and developed landscapes of the Kurdish language and investigate the findings of local and international conferences towards Kurdish language status in Iraqi Kurdistan and other parts. The Kurdish language is a symbol of identity for Kurds in Middle East. Kurdish
language consists of different dialects or varieties with varying degrees of demographic distribution in different regions of Kurdistan. Although Kurds had to wage a fierce struggle to possess their own statehood for many centuries, they never succeeded. In fact, Kurds reside in all countries as minority groups in the region including Iraq, Iran, Turkey, and Syria. Moreover, many Kurds as refugees immigrated to western countries and live there. At the forefront of the struggle was a newspaper which is worth
mentioning.

Abstract
Motivational and Self–regulated learning includes the learning process that involves
metacognitive components, (the thought about one’s thought) strategic function (monitoring, controlling, planning, and assessing personal development against a standard), and motivation to learn–self regulated learners
achieve great success in their academic engagement because they have self–control over their milieu. Many
students are unable to learn English well because their teachers have failed to apply a good and useful strategy. Therefore, it is very crucial to put these factors into consideration in order to develop a good and reasonable method of teaching.

Abstract
Maternal obesity is associated with health risks for mothers and new-born. Obesity during pregnancy has increased dramatically in Iraqi Kurdistan.
Objectives:
The aim of this study is to assess the influence of an educational program on the maternal pregnancy outcomes
of obese women attending primary health centers in a large city in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
Results:
Obese women were older and were more likely to have had more pregnancies than normal-weight women. Regarding maternal outcomes, there was no statistically significant difference among the three groups regarding pregnancy-induced hypertension and Gestational age at onset of labor.
